I’ve been thinking a lot about STEM outreach lately... Particularly, how can we engage more girls in STEM?

Updated: Thanks to Dr. Peter Muller for the suggestions to my Resources for Lessons section.

A Few STEM Resources for Lessons & Tools (K-12)

AAAS Science Netlinks: http://sciencenetlinks.com/

Engineering World Health (more biomedical engineering focused): http://www.ewh.org/students/stem/stem-programs

Science Buddies (for simple hands-on science): http://www.sciencebuddies.org/

Association for Women in Mathematics: https://sites.google.com/site/awmmath/info/k-12

Cool STEM Gadgets

$1 Origami Microscope:

https://www.foldscope.com/ I can’t wait to get mine in August 2017. They should be a blast!!

Jewelbots Friendship Bracelets to Teach Coding:

https://shop.jewelbots.com/ I haven’t tried these yet, but I hope to.

Brixo Lego Blocks for Making Circuits:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1068475467/brixo-building-blocks-meet-electricity-and-iot I haven’t worked with these, but I imagine they would be a huge hit. Snap Circuits ( http://www.snapcircuits.net/ ) may provide more structure, and are a LOT of fun!
