Project Bridge at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz medical campus recently invited some of our Colorado state representatives to attend Postdoc Research Day (PDRD). At this event, postdocs on the Anschutz campus showcase their innovative work as early career scientists.
Project Bridge works to bring scientists and our community closer together. Through this group, many postdocs on this campus advocate for science and research. To learn more about Project Bridge and what we do, please visit our website: tinyurl.com/ProjBridgeCO
At PDRD, I really enjoyed chatting with Representatives Leslie Herod, Chris Hansen, Chris Kennedy and Mike Weissman. It is encouraging to see them take an active interest in science and support Coloradans who do it. Research and innovation are not only large fuels to our state economy, but most of the work being done here is in pursuit of finding life-saving cures and treatments.
I found that my fake lung (pictured here) really helped me explain respiration to both active researchers and state representatives.

A special thanks to Carrie Coleman for capturing some photos during the day!
